There are many signs that can tell you if a child is suffering from child abuse and what type of abuse is he/she suffering.
Signs of Physical Abuse
- injuries or unexplained bruises
- wears clothing that covers up their bruises like long-sleeved shirts.
- seems afraid to go home
- is always in alert like something bad is going to happen
- Cuts
- Eye injuries
- Broken bones
- trouble walking or sitting
- Shows interest on sexual acts
- Makes effort to avoid a specific person
- Child doesn't want to change in front of others
- Showing pornography to a child
- Photographing a child in sexual poses
- Self-harm
Signs of physiological abuse
- feeling excessively anxious and fearful about doing something wrong.
- he/she is extremely complaining or demanding
- doesn't seem to be so connected with his/her parent
- insulting, ignoring and yelling
- Changes in appetite
- Paranoia
- Difficulty explaining their opinions
Signs of Neglect
- Hygiene is bad
- Changes in school performance
- Inadequate medical care
